Description

The Latin word doctor literally means “teacher”: one whose first task is not to treat illness, but to show patients how to heal and stay healthy on their own. Now Dr. Andrew Weil – America’s foremost authority on natural healing approaches – invites listeners to attend a comprehensive, one-on-one audio learning course designed to achieve this original goal of the healer’s art. Through 12 challenging sessions, Dr. Weil personally helps listeners take charge of their own well-being with proven, natural solutions to achieving optimum health. Listeners learn the same practical health recommendations that they would by attending a two-day seminar with Dr. Weil – at their convenience and all on one invaluable home resource. This complete course covers: Healing and the Mind – How thoughts and emotions influence health and many common disorders • Preventing Chronic Disease – Essential measures to prevent heart attack, stroke, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and more, often without turning to pharmaceutical drugs • Your Optimal Diet – A primer on eating for maximum health and pleasure • Vitamins, Minerals, and Other Supplements – Specific, up-to-date recommendations • Herbal Medicine – Dr. Weil’s guidance on dozens of herbal remedies • Plus seven more complete sessions covering exercise and fitness, optimal aging, and alternative healing therapies.
